Our Vision: The National Employment Pact (NEP) is Egypt’s know-how platform and benchmark for creating, sustaining and scaling up best practice employment solutions for placing youth into fair blue-collar jobs.
The National Employment Pact (NEP) was founded as a response to the demands of Egyptian youth for fair employment opportunities following the 2011 revolution.
- Launched by the Egyptian-German business community and the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce
- Supported by German Development Cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development
- Under the patronage of the German Embassy in Cairo
The NEP aims at bridging the gap between job seekers and available job opportunities in the blue-collar sector. Our target group is youth aged from 18 to 35 years with no technical training or academic degree required.
We exclusively provide job opportunities that abide by the NEP Decent Work criteria (see below).
Decent Work Criteria

To achieve its goals of reducing unemployment in Egypt, the NEP operates and capacitates employment centers with its 40 certified full-time staff.
The NEP aims to work together with local and international partners to ensure the collective utilization of expertise and resources to promote employment in Egypt.
The NEP aims to scale up nationally, reaching out to more youth and providing its best practice employment solutions to job seekers and employers all over Egypt.
The NEP is committed to creating the most innovative employment solutions and ensure their standardization throughout the NEP’s employment centers all over Egypt.
The NEP aims to become a financially and institutionally sustainable organization that continually provides its services to Egyptian job seeking youth.
