Decent Work Criteria
The employee must be offered a clear and legal contract when being hired.
The basic monthly salary cannot be less than 800 Egyptian pounds, and the total monthly salary received by the worker cannot be less than 1000 Egyptian pounds.
The contract must include provisions for both social and health insurance.
Egyptian Labour Law
The work hours, holidays, vacations, and the trial period follow the provisions of the Egyptian Labor Law No. 12/2003 and the Social Insurance Law of 1975. The employee must be provided with at least the minimum annual increase in salaries as stipulated by law.
Safe and Healthy Work Environment
The company and its affiliates provide protection from the risks workers are exposed to on the job and from possible injuries they might suffer from. The company and its affiliates set up an emergency plan in order to protect the facility and its employees in the event of a disaster. It must also conduct tests on this plan and train the workers on the safety protocol.
